There's a bunch of studies discussing maxillary arch development with Invisalign or similar, but I haven't seen much mentioning of it in this space.
Anyway I'm interested to hear what some people more knowledge than myself might think of the idea of using Invisalign for improving maxillary arch/dental arch for a better physical appearance. It seems pretty ideal when instead of dealing with a MARPE tooth gap for months you could avoid that entirely in exchange for less significant results. Like a middle-ground.
Or are the results just from an improved dental arch / maxillary dentoalveolar expansion just deemed negligible compared to the alternatives?
It doesn't change bone structure, but from my (very limited) understanding it seems like it could improve lateral cheek fullness, soften nasolabial folds, get rid of buccal corridors, and potentially opening the nasolabial angle for a better profile overall + obviously improved teeth.
Apologies if the answer is obvious and I'm missing something, I'm not too knowledgeable on this, if someone could explain why it's good/bad with their reasoning that would be great.

Conclusions: Clear aligner treatment can effectively manage a constricted maxillary arch. We found significant changes in the maxillary alveolar bone. Both inter-apex and inter-cusp widths increased in all teeth, with the highest values in the premolars. Moreover, the increases in interdental distances at both apex and cusp levels were related to tooth position.
