maxillary retainer

I took off my braces about two years ago, and the orthodontics have told me to use a maxillary retainer. Would using the maxillary retainer stunt my maxillary growth, or is it helping?

your maxilla is your upper jaw, maxillary retainers are retainers just for your upper teeth.its just keeping your teeth in the new moved place
