just as I suspected (and as is the case with 90% of doctors) the doctor didn't listen to what i told her to tell them and they did an ultrasound too early into the potential pregnancy.
they used some outdated retardation to track how long a girl is pregnant, basing it off her last menstrual cycle so according to that when they did the test she was 7 weeks pregnant. in reality she couldnt have conceived more than 3 weeks prior and the at home tests she took lined up with that in terms of darkness on the line. 3 weeks pregannt = IMPOSSIBLE to see anything on the ultrasound.
anyway even though she was told she miscarried she's still been having slight spotting every day for nearly a month now. we originally thought this was a sign of the miscarriage but when you miscarry you dont bleed for longer than a week.
so tomorrow she's going to take another pregnancy test and this is the breakdown of possiblities in my head:
20% she really did miscarry and she's just having super abnormally long bleeding
40% she's pregnant in a normal way, this is more likely because ive seen a lot more people say they bled throughout their entire first trimester than i did read about ppl bleeding after miscarriage
40% she has an ectopic pregnancy that could kill her (a lot of bleeding/spotting is a symptom of this)
aka im fucked.
