Depends on the language. If you already know a couple you can learn a new language within a couple of weeks. Otherwise it's over, it can take you anywhere from 1-2 months to a year, depending on the beginner friendliness of the language.

learning the syntax itself is pretty easy actually. what's hard about it is learning the in-depth knowledge that allows you to code advanced stuff
python is a pretty easy language and you can do some pretty good stuff with it early on
on the other hand something like c++ has a much higher learning curve, but it's also a much more potent language
