You have to be smart but not autistic because you have to work and interact with people 24/7.There are alot of rules and regulations. If you hate following rules or taking orders , you are pretty much done.
It is definitely not for the socially challenged types.

Yeah , Ntness is a must for the soon to be your doctors. It's hard for autists to fake their ways pretend to be NT through the interview and school where they have to work with women.

This is why they often gravitate towards a field like CS-It is a sausage-fest.
But now there are more and more normies, Chads and females because there is a huge $$$ rush in data science. NTs go where the money goes.

true social skills are required to succeed in pretty much everything. not enough to be smart.

Yeah it's insane. Back when I was in 11th grade, in the beginning i was planning to do med, until my friends redpilled me about how hard it is.
There was a girl of my friend group who was in grade 12th back when i was in 10th grade... she did very well in 12th grade and was top 0.9&tile,she even got good grades for the medical entrance test, but she failed the interview and was rejected. All that hard work man....
This is why i during 11th, i decided to do IT and cope with that instead.

What a fucking retard you just have to know the answers by heart, just ask someone who has done the interview what kind of questions they ask and try to elaborate the most eloquent answer, you guys are so fucking retarded

Honestly med should be applied to as a post graduate in most cases a high schooler does not have the required maturity or experience to make such a big commitment or undergo that pressure.
The top 3 professions with the highest suicide rates are all medical professions.
Even my GP told me how his son super smart scholarship dude got rejected and is now applying as a post grad, it’s a lot more competitive today too.

don't have autism but the competitiveness of med school today pushes me away. which is why i'll probably just do what my father does and become a landlord and become a leech on society that way.

but seriously phramacology seems like an okay discipline.

There are jobs in medicine that do not require interaction with the public. Reading MRIs and Xrays. Surgical assistants. and sure more but I am not expert.

I used to wish I was a doctor or some shit where I can help people. Now I just laugh knowing doctors are out there working nonstop never being able to take a break during working hours whereas I can do my work at any time I want as long as I do it before a deadline, can go outside whenever I want during work hours, don't even have to show up except for morning meetings etc. All while still being paid relatively well.

I've studied in a medical field and everyone was extremly NT. There were also many strivers but also some chill people i could vibe with somewhat even though my severe manletism often causes me distress in social situations.

Even if your inhibition is high, you will eventually become NT if you choose medicine as a career - from university you will spend a lot of time in labs & hospitals, training, helping doctors, interacting with patients, discussing cases, etc.
It's not like in high-school, where if you're a nerd, you are stuck with other nerds, and don't have any idea what to talk to the other girls or how to hang out with the cool people.
There's a lot of socialization and interaction, including with student girls, which will lower your inhibition with females - you're gonna take their blood, their pulse, do physical exams on them, then they will do the same thing on you.
This is how gynecology classes work, at least in my country - the girl students are put to undress, the professor explains their anatomy, he shows how a pelvic examination is done, then all the students take their turn and do the same thing. For the next lesson another student girl strips, and the students do their thing on her.

I'd say you can go into research or become a weird egocentric plastic surgeon, where people will forgive your autism due to your geniousness. Only works in a brainlet field like medicine though.

medicine is not worth the respect and job security. You have to be extremely altruistic to be a doctor getting over worked to shit after studying 8+ years and paying thousands for it.

Many people don't realise a career in medicine bascially translates to "Sacrificing prime years"
Good looking doctors that maintained physical and/or social lives are rare and few with the extreme hours and demand, especially todays when competition is worse than it was back then.

not to mention upwards of 150k+ debt EASY.
Have fun looksmaxxing with that debt tbh.
Its something for you if you really want it and can't see yourself doing an alternative.

Sounds like extreme cope. Autism is great for following strict rules, ideal for doctors.

Also it's usually not communication skills that socially crippled people lack, but just shitchatting about random bullshit that they struggle with. You don't do that kind of shit any more during medicine than during any other degree.

Only positive thing is the female:male ratio in med school compared to STEM.

The debt is not really an issue, in Europe there is 0 - minimal debt
Even 100k in debt would be paid off after 2 years as a trainee surgeon

Ask them if they would smash an ugly doctor they'd say no but they can't see that in themselves.
I get its a bit different for men but it holds true.

In europe getting a degree is cheap, but doctor salaries are also utter shit. Paying off 100k in debt would take you 10 years on a 40hour/week doctor salary in the netherlands.

What do you mean, how do you think learning gynecology works in university, they have to practice on someone, and those persons are the female students. Of course, as a male student you will also have to undress for the andrology, urology and proctology classes, and your dick, balls and ass will be examined by the other students.
I repeat this is how things are here, I don't know how is in other countries, they might have paid people there that are hired for the classes, but the university taxes are huge while here most students don't pay anything.
