when they see a man who is prettier than them, most pretend that they aren't interested to protect their ego

look at those street interviews where women literally call PSL gods "ugly" and "not their type"

so when a tall decent looking guy with a few flaws ("medium ugly" according to foids) comes around, they find him easier to approach because they think hes not out of their league and most likely won't reject

the medium ugly phenomenon never works with short guys because if they have a mediocre face and they're short they have no redeemable factors at that point
