When I was younger and dumber I also used to care about these "who is white or not" bullshit.

But when I matured I realized something that was always obvious: whiteness is a social construct and had never (nor will ever) a concrete definition like day and night.

Take SFcels, for example, they allow Southern Italians on their forum, but will say jews are not white, when:

1: Your average New York Ashkenazi has a big phenotypical overlap with Italians and many are lighter and more pan-European looking than Italians.

2: Southern Italians are also borderline Europeans. Your average Sicilian and Venetian are genetically distant, the former has tons of Levantine, Greek Islander and Ashkenazi Jewish genetic closeness, while the later is closer to Iberians and Occitans.

I like reading about genetics, but for fun, not to fuel race wars and other similar mumbo jumbo crap.
