Just read TS,is ts true ? i dont want ethnic eye color lmao “
Melanotan 2 (MT-2) works by stimulating the production of melanin (pigment) in the body
. While primarily used for skin darkening, this stimulation can affect other pigmented tissues, including the eyes.

Yes, Melanotan 2 can potentially darken the iris, including green-grey eyes.
Here is why this occurs and the risks involved:
  • Mechanism of Action: Melanotan 2 is a synthetic melanocortin peptide that acts as an agonist of the melanocortin receptors. By binding to these receptors, it increases the production of melanin, specifically eumelanin, which is responsible for dark pigmentation.
  • Iris Pigmentation: While the goal is usually skin tanning, the increased melanin production can increase the melanin content in the stroma (the front layer) of the iris. For light-colored eyes like green, grey, or blue, this generally results in a shift toward a darker hazel or brown shade.
  • Case Reports/Risks: While specific case studies on green-grey eyes turning brown are often anecdotal, the drug is known to cause increased moles and freckles, indicating that melanocytes (pigment-producing cells) are being activated throughout the body.
  • Irreversibility: Such changes in eye color, if caused by increased melanin, may be irreversible. “

You’d think it makes sense mechanistically, but practically its way overblown once u understand the actual mechanisms of action

Melanotan-I/II works by activating melanocortin receptors, mainly MC1R, which increases the melanogenesis pathway. This causes increased tyrosinase activity, eumelanin production, darker skin/freckles/moles etc but the iris isnt the same as skin.

Adult eye colour is mostly fixed by how much melanin is already in the stroma as well as how light scatters through it, with systemic mt not reliably making the iris stroma start packing new pigment. It would be way more prevalent as a known side effect if it did.

The real compounds known for iris darkening are prostaglandin eye drops like latanoprost/bimatoprost...
fuck eye color , unless u have already giga light eyes nothing will change , its all about eye shape , tilt and medial canthus

You ignored that the iris of your eye doesnt have a mc1-4r receptor entirely?

i have light blue eyes known as low melanin type, what can happen if i take mt2

The real compounds known for iris darkening are prostaglandin eye drops like latanoprost/bimatoprost since they are applied directly to the eye and act locally on iris melanocytes, so maybe if you already have hazel mixed pigment you could notice a shift, but mt2 making light eyes go brown for example is not a real concern

Solution
yeah no shit bro ??? It boosts melanin Ofcourse it’ll darken eyes

That’s why I’m never doing it, imagine mudding your eyes ( or just pinning in general) j to get tan 😭 can be done naturally so many ways
