You’d think it makes sense mechanistically, but practically its way overblown once u understand the actual mechanisms of action

Melanotan-I/II works by activating melanocortin receptors, mainly MC1R, which increases the melanogenesis pathway. This causes increased tyrosinase activity, eumelanin production, darker skin/freckles/moles etc but the iris isnt the same as skin.

Adult eye colour is mostly fixed by how much melanin is already in the stroma as well as how light scatters through it, with systemic mt not reliably making the iris stroma start packing new pigment. It would be way more prevalent as a known side effect if it did.

The real compounds known for iris darkening are prostaglandin eye drops like latanoprost/bimatoprost since they are applied directly to the eye and act locally on iris melanocytes, so maybe if you already have hazel mixed pigment you could notice a shift, but mt2 making light eyes go brown for example is not a real concern
