Trends over the last 50 years shows:
Less smoking
Less alcohol consumption
Longer life expectancy
Increased use of sunscreen
More comfortable lives
Less physical labour

It’s only a small list, but these factors all contribute to how we age and the effect it can have on our skin, hair, body etc
