I think you're right. Up until now, women have been chosen based on how beautiful they are. The other aspects like how educated she is, what class she comes from, etc. are all cover ups to make it appear that men don't only care about looks in a woman.
Despite believing looks are everything, I think a sightly lesser looking chad who's dark triad, powerful, dominant and not needy can easily score a hot foid if he brutally beat up a slightly better looking chad who is a coward, physically/socially weaker, light triad and needy at times.
