Men have no sense of their height

There's this guy in his late 30s who goes to my local gym, he's always said that he's 6'1 confidently (I don't know why but I believed this for a time) but I've come to realize he's just delusional.

I have measured myself to be exactly 5'10, but standing next to me he looks about an inch taller at absolute most.

I told him this and he coped by telling me that I'm taller than 5'10, and even after conceding he still refers to himself as "tall" to this day which is crazy.

To be fair though he is from El Salvador where the average male is around 5'7 though.

5'10 is not enough of a significant height difference from 6'1

Men over-estimate generally. It's part of the evolutionary psyche.

im 6,4 barefoot and its clear to see many men are lying about their height as I rarely see someone taller despite the fact people claim 6,1 is average height nowdays
