Anxiety, ADHD, depression, it can be a bitch to deal with. Especially if you've had all three like me. I cannot guarantee that everything here will work for you, but I guarantee that this guide will help you cover all bases. Ive split the everything into 3 categories for ease of reading. everything on this list I have tried at least once and have seen benefit or has substantial anecdotal reports of benefits. (I will note if I haven't personally had success with a specific compound) . If you feel i've left something out, please post in the comments.
Acute anxiety relief:
-Kava Chill Pill mints (acts on gabba receptors, and works as a fast acting method for anxiety relief very good in a pinch, they also taste pretty damn good)
-Monotropa Uniflora tincture (acts as a pain reliever, anticonvulsant, and short term anxiety reliever. highly recommend, helps alot before going into a situation where I know ill be stressed)
-Taurine (newer studies show that taurine supplementation leads to lower levels of anxiety, and cortisol (stress hormone). unfortunately in its normal form it only has a half life of around 2 hours)
-Benzodiazepines (I put benzos in short term relief because realistically you need to pace yourself with these. They can be incredibly effective for anxiety relief, however if taken daily addiction is a guaranteed outcome, and let me tell you Benzo addiction is VERY VERY bad. you can take my word or just read the thousands of testimonials on the internet. They are extremely effective in what they do though. boost confidence, and pretty much delete anxiety. keep in mind everything comes at a price).
Sustained anxiety and depression relief:
-Magnesium Taurate (magnesium plays a significant role in the production of serotonin as well as a minor role in gabba production. Magnesium Taurate specifically has some unique properties however, as I mentioned above Taurine in its standalone form only has a half-life of around 2 hours in the body, when the amino acid is bound to magnesium however the half life becomes significantly longer).
-Kava *extract/pill form* (there has been some studies concluding the longer kava is taken the greater the anxiety relief effects are, personally Ive had no luck with this form of Kava but its always worth a try)
-L theanine: (this is hands down one of the best natural supplements you can buy for anxiety relief imo, I noticed the sedating effects almost immediately; felt similar to benzos without the extreme brain-fog and other downsides of benzos, *must try*)
-GABA supplements (these can often be hit or miss depending on the brand you buy from, ive tried a few and only one has worked for me which is Pure Encapsulations Gaba Supplement, I noticed the calming effects and increased confidence after taking for about a week, and I have not looked back, It also aids significantly in my sleep quality *must try*)
-SSRI's *prescription* (can be a good longterm method for relieving anxiety and improving mood, however some can have some very nasty side effects. Do your due diligence and research before trying. Personally ive had good success with Lexapro, these drugs can often be hit or miss though so most of the time you have to try a few before you find one that works well).
-Ostarine MK2866: *sarm you probably shouldn't try* (out of anything on this list, this you should do the most research before taking. in short Sarms act as a binder to the androgen receptor similar to steroids, without the binding as much to organs like the heart and prostate. MK2866 in particular for me has had numerous benefits on my mood; I feel significantly more confident and uplifted. This is due to its unique neuro-protective capabilities. ive tried many sarms and this one just hits different. As stated before though, you really need to do thorough research on this stuff before even thinking about taking it. you can really fuck your shit up if you are not careful. getting a heart attack or stroke is probably not very fun. I will probably do a post on sarms in the near future because there is alot of misinformation and bullshittery on the internet regarding these compounds). PROCEED WITH CAUTION.
ADD/ADHD relief:
-Ashwaghanda (by now im sure alot of you have heard of the benefits of this supplement, it helps control dopamine levels, increases the bodies ability to produce testosterone through stimulation of the pituitary if not mistaken, also has cognitive benefits such as increased focus, energy, and can help with anxiety and depression for some).
-SNRI's *prescription* (helps balance dopamine and norepinephrine levels which can improve cognition and anxiety, also aids in weight loss by decreasing Grelin levels in the body which regulates appetite. side effects were very mild from my experience. Ive been taking daily for a while now and have noticed quite a significant difference in my cognitive clarity).
-Lions mane/ cordyceps mushies (can improve focus, cognitive function, and energy levels, have tried both and didn't notice too much to be honest, but I only tried one brand. some people see alot of benefit)
-Adderall *prescription* (everyone knows this one, so ill just give my personal experience; Im not much of a fan. appetite suppression was very extreme, felt like I wanted to throw up just by looking at food. Does do its job though the increased focus and decreased erratic-ness can really be useful, unfortunately its pretty bad for your cardiovascular system so I would shy away unless absolutely necessary.
