Its between lamine and messi, though messi seems to be more reliable as lamine just came back from injury

Yeah bro he used excessive force on the player wrap it up

@DarkAscender
You must've never played football before

It's a bad challenge and Messi should've gotten a yellow atleast.

You can't just hit the back of someones calf all the way down to their ankle in such a position without aiming for the ball and not get booked

Insane how he didn't receive a card. This is a very ugly tackle.

Nice projection, simply lifting ur feet a few inches above the ground doesnt account for brutality, its not a bad challenge at all ur just being dishonest, he already had his arms and heads down thus already falling with any little contact made, this happened last year too in the copa del ray final where ascencio did the same thing messi did on raphinia but it was an obvious dive

@catastropy

Watch this video again.

How can you not give a card for this????

Do you not see the contact messi made with this guy's calve and ankle!??????

This is a clear foul, what are you smoking.

Look at the position of the algerian players feet and messi’s ones already falling and one hasnt done anything:feelskek:
Though we can just agree to disagree ofcourse no need to prolong this and mess up our ptr

I don’t think he was intending on placing his foot there
Probably tried to intercept the ball but couldn’t see
It would be insanely retarded to purposely do that early in the first game in the opponents half

The defender tried to get in front of messi, which is a dribbling technique. Not a dive. And got tripped by Messi. Then direct contact to his calve and ankle. Yellow card.

I doubt many players often intentionally make tackles that give them cards, but it happens.
"he couldn't see, no intention" is not a good argument against a clear tackle without intercepting the ball.

Well most red cards are when it’s a reckless tackle
Like going in with studs up, or a scissor tackle
I think this should’ve been a yellow, but that makes no difference. So many fouls don’t get given yellows. I think it would be harsh to give a red, and certainly not to award it with VAR as clear and obvious
