This debate only exists because Ronaldo is a tall mtn-hmtn. He even has like 150m more followers than Messi, half of them are probably foids

C.Ronaldo has 833 career goals, Messi has 817, but Messi has 116 fewer appearances. (as of today 9/10/26).

1. Outside the box goals (lets be honest, its more difficult to score from range). Messi 109 : 72 Ronaldo.
Considering Ronaldo's extra power and athleticism, Messi is ahead here.

2. Assists: Messi 509 : 329 Ronaldo.

3. Shot conversion rate: Messi 3139 : 3447 Ronaldo. Messi scores a goal for every 5.45 shots, Ronaldo 6.43.

4. Penalties: Messi has scored 76% of his penalties, Ronaldo 83%.

5. Hat tricks: Messi 62 : 66 Ronaldo. Messi scores a hat trick every 19 games on average, Ronaldo 20.3 on average.

6. Aerial duels won: well, Ronaldo mogs him with 737 to Messi's 121. But Messi is a manlet and Ronaldo is tall and has the leap of a NBA pro, so jfl.

7. Accurate Througballs: Messi 505 : 81 Ronaldo.

8. Messi is ahead on trophies won (league, cup, international)

I'm a casual when it comes to football I've watched 3 games in my entire life just because of societal pressure. I favoured Ronaldo most of my life because I wasn't that familiar with messi but when you look at it with an unbiased opinion and removing lookism Messi clears easily!
