The thing with this debate is that perspective is very important. Messi yes he was a generational miracle in terms of soccer ability (1 in a trillion) But to say that he did no work is cope, there are so much better players than Messi, but why did messi become better then them? Because he outworked them. The thing with their debate is that in terms of achievements and accomplishments, individually it’s similar but Messi has the edge. Team wise Messi has bigger achievements. But why is that? Messi had a system built for him, since the age of 12 he was at Barcelona, system was built for his success around him. Ronaldo was only really discovered at 18 years old by a top team. Ronaldo had less time in terms of quality development, Ronaldo also bounced around top teams to prove he can do it anywhere. As soon as Messi left his comfort zone he failed. Whereas Ronaldo creates his comfort zone. It’s simple. I believe if everything was equal for both players Ronaldo would do better. Ronaldo is a better player Messi has better achievements.
