I was waiting in line for the cashier and she was talking really long and wasting our time

An older black guy in front of me looked back at me and jokingly said “maybe we should have went to the other till”

We both laughed and he was really friendly. When his turn came, his card declined and he had some issues paying. I offered to pay for him (it was like 2 dollars, no biggie) but he refused and eventually managed to pay

He said goodbye to me but right as he began to exit, I noticed he had forgotten to collect his card from the machine. I called out to him and handed his card back. He patted me on my arm and said “you’re a good person”

That experience made me feel really happy for the rest of the day. He was a kind man with a good soul. I hope he’s doing well

That's weird, I remember reading online, some time ago a very similar story, except when the guy complained that the black female cashier is taking too long, the black guy waiting in line snapped, started to scream, kicked the grocery cart and accused the guy of being a racist...
