My upper lip was way too forward before I started mewing, now that I've been mewing for around 1.5 year both my lips are almost matching eachother, so maybe u were mewing incorrectly?

your mandible should follow the maxilla usually. it's just how it grows. not sure how you can develop an overbite with mewing unless you somehow had an open mouth 24/7
