The face is still capable of change after age 16, it's why people can still become subhumans from extractions despite getting them as an adult. Mewing might work, for adults, as in having significant facial changes but it'd be over way longer timeframes than people claim.
Instead of expecting a change within 3 years, they should change that to 10-15 years. It'll take years for the facial effects of tooth extractions to show up as well.
