Mewing
Since I’ve noticed on this forum that many people claim it doesn’t work or overly praise it (they often have a strong placebo effect because they learn about mewing too late), let me clarify its purpose. Mewing is not a new technique by Dr. Mew — it’s the natural resting position of the tongue. Here’s the explanation:
For full jaw development, don’t forget the lower jaw (also addressed by orthodontists).
The nose will normalize after these orthodontic adjustments (if you have no pathologies). With rhinoplasty, instead of fixing recessed jaws, surgeons often remove a properly positioned nasal bridge, making the face flatter and unnatural.

Mewing is not a new technique by Dr. Mew — it’s the natural resting position of the tongue. Here’s the explanation:
- Tongue presses against the palate → upper jaw develops properly.
- Tongue doesn’t press against the palate = poor jaw development, restricted airways, and, as a side effect, a more ‘beta’ facial appearance.
For full jaw development, don’t forget the lower jaw (also addressed by orthodontists).

- Solution for Profile 1: Advance the lower jaw.
- Solution for Profile 2: Rhinoplasty.
