Mfs hopping on tretinoin acting like it’s not exactly the same as benzoyl peroxide

Tretinoin is stronger but all that means is they have to dilute it more to the point it’s the same strength as benzoyl peroxide. They have the same method of application and they require the same amount to be applied (pea sized amount for the whole face) and they take the same amount of time to take effect. On top of that they work pretty much the same way. People just see something strong and assume that must be the best thing to use, but benzoyl peroxide is the first thing a doctor will prescribe you for acne and it’s pretty cheap.

one is a retinoid which speeds up skin cell turnover, the other kills bacteria on your skin

Only relevant if you care just about acne but if you want good skin in general you use retinoids

That’s the only effect that’s different, all others are the same, and my other points still stand as it requires same application and time used
