A compact mid-face usually points to a vertically short maxilla. I have this myself, and in my case, it stems from a general growth deficiency, my maxilla is underdeveloped in all dimensions, and I am going to have surgery next year at 27.


In your case, the maxilla appears to be forward-grown, and aligned with your mandible, which is a positive, but it could be slightly longer vertically.
It's nothing major, but it does give you a more youthful, neotenous appearance, since babies typically have very compact mid-faces.

It’s always been this way to some extent, though I feel it used to be slightly more reasonable in the past. Nowadays, many user try to bring other users down just to gain a sense of superiority or to feel better about themselves.

Surgery, bone graft, or some sort of jaw-rotation. But to go for that in your case would be a bit extreme since you have no actual deformity. It is a minor issue.

Exactly, and obviously this does impact your total FWHR as well, making it appear lower.
But again, it is not due to a major developmental issue, but more likely inherent for you.
So, if it really does bother you that much, check your options, but it is nothing severe.
Your Maxilla is properly developed and pretty forward grown.

If I were you, I would get another hair-cut since hiding your forehead makes your face appear even shorter than it actually is.

His midface isn't overly compact, FWHR is normal after accounting for selfie distortion, along with MFR which is nearly perfect at 1.02x. Gonial angle is also ~123 ish which actually indicates some downgrowth if anything. His maxilla is developed normally and there isn't any red flags with lack of downward growth.

His eye area down carries him the most. But he's lucky he has the eye color he has, because it sorta saves him there.
