That’s simply because they are old and can't comprehend the changing world.

The disconnect happens between all changing generations as our world keeps advancing. The middle-aged hags just got hit the hardest with hope fuel.

As when they were babies, their moms still couldn’t get a credit card or vote or whatever shit.

But they could do all these things when they grew up. Which gave them the worldview that anything was possible. If you can’t do something, you must be lazy. And you’re not trying hard enough!
