I consider myself to be an honest Protestant (specifically Anglican) Christian, deeply reverent in my faith. However, at least recently, I have been experiencing quite a lot of misanthropic thoughts and feelings. Oftentimes in public, I feel irrationally annoyed with people, even though rationally I know that they didn't do anything necessarily bad or harmful to me. I find myself desiring to be by myself more and more. I think part of it is because I think that most people are extremely disingenuous in public and put on fake personas, pretending to be someone they are not (whether or not this is just projection, I am unsure). At first I found it hard to reconcile these opinions with my faith, however recently I have come to believe that perhaps it is normal for Christians to have these opinions, as we are a fallen species after all, guilty of original sin. Interested to hear other perspectives, both theistic and atheistic.
