1) Cold showers do NOT raise cortisol to dangerous levels. Yes, cold exposure increases cortisol.
No, the increase is nowhere near enough to cause negative effects even if done regularly.

2) Acute stress ≠ chronic stress.
Cold showers, workouts, studying, forcing yourself to do anything = acute stress
Malnutrition, sleep deprivation, prolonged exposure, trauma = chronic stress

3) Cortisol only becomes harmful in extreme conditions such as severe malnutrition, chronic sleep deprivation, spending hours and hours in extreme cold, long term physical labor with poor recovery

Boosts alertness & focus: Increases norepinephrine (and some dopamine), making you feel more awake and mentally sharp.
Enhances circulation: Vasoconstriction followed by vasodilation improves vascular responsiveness and blood flow control

Importance of Cortisol: it mobilizes glucose, supports alertness and focus, and allows the body to respond effectively to physical and mental stress. Without normal cortisol release, you wouldn’t be able to wake up properly, train, handle challenges, or recover from stress.

2) Role of Cortisol in Waking up:

4) Acute and Chronic Stress:

Stop being a tiktok faggot. "Increased/ decreased my cortisol" has to be one of the most corny and cringe terms I have heard. Most of you faggots haven't even watched a single full goatis video. You are just a lazy fuck accept it.

My cortisol is chronically elevated above the reference range - every time I’ve had it tested. Pretty sure this is from extreme financial stress and loneliness.

can constant acute stress (such as the examples you listed) lead to chronic stress?

yes most right
slightly more nuanced tho

generally, acute stress is completely fine, but it's effects are dependent on baseline stress and many other factors that im not educated enough to name, probably like sleep and recovery etc. the same stimulus(cold showers in this case) can be normal for some, and terrible for others.

Bad info on a looksmaxxing forum, cortisol will rape your looks overtime even at normal levels, called the ugly hormone for a reason, metyrapone/relacorilant or ldar

Boosts alertness & focus: Increases norepinephrine (and some dopamine), making you feel more awake and mentally sharp.
Enhances circulation: Vasoconstriction followed by vasodilation improves vascular responsiveness and blood flow control
Also missleading, you can find this with fucking anything, also an unreliable and not a clean way to do it, horrible advise, its 2026 we have pharma
