Mitochondria are in every cell of our body, they are vital for energy production and life. They create this thing called adenosine triphosphate (ATP) as you may have heard it. This is the energetic currency needed for life. This process happens by reacting hydrocarbons from calories or sunlight with oxygen.
As you age your mitochondria become less functional. There aren't as many mitochondria to create ATP. As you would guess your ATP lowers as you age.
Why would you want well functioning mitochondria? More androgens, better libido, better skin, better mood/energy and overall well being, better hair density/quality, slow down balding if you have AA (androgenic alopecia). And many more.
These are factors that can lower your ATP and mitochondria function/count.
High carb diet.
High stress.
Sleep deprivation and circadic mismatches.
Enviornmental toxins and pollutions.
Immflamation.
How can we increase ATP?
Creatine
Metformin
Exercise
Low carb diet
Sauna
Cold Exposure
How to strengthen and increase density in the mitochondria?
Daily sun exposure
Weight lifting
Low carb diet
Sauna
Cold exposure
Fasting and caloric restriction
Take care of your gut, fix any problems it may have
HIIT
Supplements like PQQ could very well be the a miracle pill in this topic. It increases the protein PGC1-aplha, as well as creating mitochondrial biogenisis. Stronger more dense mitochondria.
List ways to strenghten mitochondria boys.
