Imagine, you ask and pay for a chocolate ice cream cone, what you receive is the picture above.
You question the lady at the register about the cone, She insists this is what you asked for, a chocolate cone.
It's plainly obvious that there is just as much strawberry on the cone. Still, she insists that because chocolate is present on the cone that it IS chocolate.
You ask her if she likes chocolate, She replies that she does like chocolate and she makes chocolate cones for herself just like the one you have.
you pose the questions "how can you be so sure you like the taste of chocolate? and why does strawberry need to be present for you to be eating a 'chocolate' cone? Shouldn't you eat a plain chocolate cone before you proclaim you like chocolate cones?"
She replies that the cone is whatever she prefers it to be.
This is what it's like dealing with identity politics, people tend to choose and claim who is what instead of looking at the facts. If you're half black, half white you're just that.
Where it ties into the black community is the argument of black vs white capability, looks, etc.
How can you call president Obama being inaugurated as a black achievement and proof of black capability with the presence of 50% percent white DNA. People tend to say "he looks black" which is something skewed by TV and the fact that here in the USA it's typically an AFRICAN-AMERICAN and a white person and not an African.
African-American admixture can be anywhere from 6-25% European, unmixed negroid people can not get the mutation for colored eyes without the presence of white DNA on BOTH sides the higher the percentage the bigger the chance of manifestation.
Black sitcoms have completely skewed the image of what being black looks like with these unrealistic rainbow families and Mullato children with 2 largely black parents. even if both parents were 25% white it would make no sense because that amount is doubled out of nowhere.
There is a certain subsect of racially confused mixed people that can't understand the concept of being biracial so instead they chase after one side that side typically being black. The problem comes in when biracial people come in with harmful & negative ideas of what being black is while they suffer none of the consequences instead being deified for their white genetics.
If you're mixed (around 50/50, I don't care, being 75/25 is not mixed to me) shut the fuck up about black issues and acting as if you're the same, stop trying to be black, you are not helping them. I notice how mixed people tend to claim black particularly when they are ugly that should say enough about how a lot of biracial people subconsciously think.
Just be mixed and leave it at that.
Do you really think if black people were on top right now they'd put some halfling at the top of their ranks? get real.
