The modern boyfriend experience
Maximum investment.
Unlimited responsibility.
Zero authority.
Replaceable at any moment.

You’re expected to be loyal, honest, emotionally available, financially useful, protective, ambitious, confident, attentive, plan everything, pay for dates and constantly prove your value.
And what do you get in return?
Apparently the bare minimum.

A guy can spend months investing into a woman, doing everything he can to keep the relationship healthy, and still get thrown away because some new guy gave her a stronger emotional reaction for five minutes.

Then comes the usual:
“you changed.”
“the spark is gone.”
“i need to find myself.”
“you’re amazing but…”

Meanwhile she can move on almost immediately while the guy is left wondering what the fuck he was supposed to do differently.

This is why I think more young men are checking out of relationships entirely.

Not because every woman is evil. Not because every relationship is a scam.

It’s because the risk/reward increasingly looks terrible for men who take relationships seriously.

You’re expected to treat her like your future wife while she can still treat the relationship like an optional experience that can be abandoned whenever her feelings change.

And if you complain about it, you’re told you’re insecure, controlling, misogynistic, or that you simply weren’t “high value” enough.

The brutal reality is that attraction isn’t fair.

Being loyal doesn’t guarantee loyalty back. Being a good boyfriend doesn’t
guarantee you’ll be appreciated.
Investing more doesn’t guarantee she won’t eventually choose someone else. So men eventually learn the only real protection is having standards and being willing to walk away.
Don’t beg.
Don’t chase.
Don’t spend your entire life trying to prove you’re worthy of someone who already has one foot out the door.

If she genuinely values you, you’ll know.
If you constantly have to convince her to stay, you’ve already lost.
