The problem with modern day software engineers landing high 6f salaries at every major company you can think of is because they get into a big name school, take compsci, get a fucking interview where they're asked 3 leetcode questions and then boom, rich RETARD. Programming should be evaluated like sports, something that's brought up from a young age.

How many % of pro athletes start playing in college? I'd bet you less than 1% and it should be the same for development too.

Most people here won't understand my point but it still needs to be pointed out, as long as you can tell an interviewer you took comp sci at Stanford you are guaranteed a spot, just grind the fuck out of leetcode, get laid off in 6 years, find another spot and do freelance side work so you can be "efficient at googling" like a true skidmaxxer.

Shut the fuck up, skid.
You really seem to have it all figured out, just solve 3 leetcode problems and you're a FAANG engineer 🤪🤪🤪

This is what we're coming to, have you seen the shit they ask in interviews nowadays? It's basically trivial to hold an interview in the first place because all of the questions are forked leetcode questions flipped around to fit some context or whatever

Except that this is only making things more difficult

Incredible, you should tell all the ivy league graduates on blind and the chart leaders on leetcode how easy it is
get laid off in 6 years
Most people don't last that long in FAANG, only the high iq, "brought up from a young age" tryhards do

The only thing I agree with is that this form of filtering applicants is only producing leetcode experts, not programmers

But you came off as making it sound so easy to break into FAANG if you just go to a top school and do leetcode - which in and of itself is a massive difficulty and time commitment

100%

People nowadays are "Googlers" and "Problem Solvers", essentially meaning skids and people who cap at basic OOP. Being an actual problem solver isn't at all what people portray it as nowadays.

True. Software Engineering is rich person's leisure.

Nigga what? I got a degree in CS from NYU. I grind leetcode for about 15 to 30 mins a day (if I feel like it, if not, I just do it once a week). How am I still unemployed? Perhaps this is God telling me to no longer pursue a career in software engineering because all of the biggest incels and cucks that ik have this career? Maybe I need some big T life change. Perhaps I should get a TEFL certificate instead and use my big name school to geomax to Asia and slay gooks for the rest of my life instead of being a CS cuck.

If youre trying to maximize efficiency then everything should be brought up from a young age. The problem is that 6 year olds don't want to code, practice law, do math, etc, but they do want to play baseball

You could say this but then again there's alot of kids who actually don't prefer sports, when I was in primary there was an entire "computer club" of kids who just played minecraft and being involved in IT at a young age usually leads most to pick up programming. So I really think it's just personal preference (y)
