Why HGH can’t push you past your genetic height limit
1. Your genes set the blueprint
Your DNA basically sets a range for your height potential.
Think of it like:
extGeneticHeightRange=[extLowerLimit,extUpperLimit]ext{Genetic Height Range} = [ ext{Lower Limit}, ext{Upper Limit}]extGeneticHeightRange=[extLowerLimit,extUpperLimit]
HGH doesn’t rewrite this range — it just helps you move within it.
2. What HGH actually does
HGH → triggers IGF-1 → stimulates growth plates

So it helps bones grow only while plates are open

3. Growth plates are the real “lock”
Once growth plates fuse, growth stops completely.
extOpenPlates=extHeightIncreasePossibleextClosedPlates=extHeight=FixedConstantext{Open Plates} = ext{Height Increase Possible} \\ ext{Closed Plates} = ext{Height = Fixed Constant}extOpenPlates=extHeightIncreasePossibleextClosedPlates=extHeight=FixedConstant
Even huge amounts of HGH after that =
no height change
4. Why there’s a “genetic ceiling”
Your ceiling comes from:
bone growth rate genes
timing of puberty
IGF-1 sensitivity
when growth plates close
hormone balance (especially estrogen signals)
So your body has a built-in “stop point,” not just a growth speed.
5.
- HGH = accelerates growth if system allows it
- Genes = decide how long and how far the system runs
- Growth plates = the hard stop switch
So HGH can optimize height… but it can’t rewrite the final limit your biology sets
