Yeah I am majority Anglo Saxon from what I can tell on DNA and general ancestry, so I cheer for them. The Normans were far less intertwined with commoners. Were really just aristocratic.
I still love both as they're both my ancestors. Just interested to see what would have come of the Island with the Saxons staying in power.

You should look up Alan Wilson and his theories on the Britons and their history being written over by Saxons. Most probably nonsense, but it's extremely interesting. Makes you wonder just how different history was from whats left of ancient texts.
