He IS forgiving... But the thing is that hell wasn't originally created for humans, but for Satan and his minions... But since all sin is ultimately against God and God is eternal, it must have an eternal punishment... That's why hell exists... But the good news is that the Lord Jesus Christ already paid the price on the cross and all we have to do now is believe on His sacrifice.

People going to hell is a damn shame and very sad and there are many people I like that died unsaved and ended up there: only thing that comforts me is that the one that will endure the hottest fire in hell is Satan and that for every 1 person he sends to hell, his punishment increases...
