Mom says i should focus on my studies instead of getting a job

The thing is the semester ends in like 2 weeks so I'll be free for the summer, she just said focus on yo studies and ill give you the money if u need to buy smth, what should i do? Stay unemployed or look for a summer job anyway (she does have money to cover anything i need easily i just want to make a lot of savings for the future)
