The moment the higher-ups of this forum decided to provide services( most of them should've been free in the first place) in exchange for money was the moment this place went further downhill from the already dying state it already was. Good users deleted their account, newly registered members now can access the best of the best section without actually working for it by making good threads (explains the explosive uptrend of shitposting and spamming) just by paying, and the whole idea of such a business model doesn't sit right with me and from what I've seen so far a lot of users as well. Since monetizing your establishment is only one of the first steps of your ruin, who knows maybe in the future admins will start applying censorship to provide a safer and more accessible space for new users which means more money for them.

But looking at this matter from another perspective I can see why this step made sense for the people who implemented it. After all maintaining sites do require financial funding. And you already have a platform with a sizeable active audience so why not take advantage of such a situation I guess.

Alas, this is merely my personal opinion perhaps this is not the cause of the current predicament the forum faces now, maybe there are other factors that im unaware of that landed us in this position. One thing for certain though the problem I spoke of today is something to reflect upon and i believe we are now facing its consequences.

It is what it and Godspeed to you.

"accessing BOTB section without working hard for it"

How much work is it really to shitpost for 100 reacts?

As for the overlords creating pay for privileges system, this is very dark triad behavior. They are working similar to the US government now and I am mirin

It's about implementing an idea to the new users that you need to produce a content worth getting a reaction from to access that section. Humans like taking the short route to get what they want which leads them to a state of incompetence. Therefore you can't expect them to produce good content to better the forum. You can't expect weak and undisciplined soldiers to maintain battle formation, do you? The same applies here.

And that's the problem right there, you're trying to attribute principles to a site associated with brainless shitposting. The age of "quality content" if there ever was is dead. VIP users are the least of your worries if you care about site quality, it has already been tarnished beyond repair.
