In the movie, Wazowski dreams of being a scarer, but he is constantly denied that throughout his life because he doesn’t look that way. He works his ass off to get enrolled in a university, and still fails to be scary because of how he looks. He is further tormented throughout his uni career and when he attends a party, he gets splattered and gets public ally humiliated in front of all the chads and the girls. Even when they use their intellect to win the scare competition, they still have to work extra effort even when the chads who were born to do that put no effort in and end up doing better. At the end, he only wins because the machine was modified in his favour.

In short, it is over if you don’t look good and you will have to work extra just to compete.
