First we must establish the first premise everything you do is ultimately for your own benefit
Ex
You give money to a homeless man. you like doing it, not because your ultimate goal is to satisfy the homeless mans needs, but because the ultimate goal is your own feeling of superiority (usually in a moral sense)
You get into a relationship not because your ultimate goal is to love the other person, but because you're hoping theyll love you back to the same extent, which brings you joy.Meaning the ultimate goal is your own benefit
Morals, while they do exist- only exist as a concept, and they are subjective
By "concept" I mean theres nothing physically stopping you from breaking these "rules" (ex dont be mean, treat everyone the way youd like to be treated, dont be a criminal). Its all a game you play, an invisible wall you've been indoctrinated to follow
As for subjectivity:
You might say, "While a lot of ethics are entirely subjective, everyone can agree that a pedophile is bad!"
Dont be so quick to assume that. Not even 100 years ago marrying (and doing the things that come with being married) someone much younger than you was entirely normal, legal, and considered acceptable by the people around back then
My point is that theresno objective foundation for these rules. Theyre entirely conceptual and nonexistent in the sense that they aren't actual laws (like gravity for ecsample)
Now my question for most of you (who abide by morals)
If everything you do is for your own benefit, what benefit is there in abiding by the concept of morals?
Sure when youe around other people, you should still follow them so you can fit in and avoid conflict. But when the time comes where you can act against morals without any consequences, it only puts you at an advantage.
Example
You see someone killing an innocent puppy.
If you follow morals, youd probably feel enraged, sad, or shocked.
If you dont, it doesnt affect you whatsoever. And if youyre a little cyclosociopath bateman, it might even bring you joy to see such things
If you genuinely don experience guilt (nothing is forcing you to), and you wont be caught, then theres absolutely no reason to abide by morals.
