I got 4 in my house. Two Glock 19s, a S&W 686 Plus, and a 6 shot 38 Taurus (forget the model).

Yeah, but it's never gonna happen. Especially not in the USA. Ever heard the phrase, "Can't put the toothpaste back in the tube."? Zero guns would be ideal but, like communism/socialism, it's just a pipe dream founded on pure emotion. If guns are here to stay and some people will use them for evil then the only logical solution to make society MORE SAFE, because perfection is also a pipe dream, would be for everybody to have a gun.

Australia's an island nation with no land borders. We, on the other hand, have the most crossed border on earth to the South. And that's only counting the documented crossings. We can't keep people or drugs out of our country so what makes anyone think we could keep guns out? If they banned guns overnight then there would be a sudden huge black market for fully automatic weapons because fully auto is currently illegal, and what would be the point buying semi auto after that?

We have way more guns in civilian hands than AU did before the buy back. We have a gun culture unlike anywhere in else in the world to boot. If the federal government attempted a mandatory buy back here in the US most people, myself included would say "fuck you". We have a mantra of non compliance in the US when it comes to "gun control". If the govt tries to confiscate there's a saying "I lost all my guns in a boating accident."

Lots of people bury guns off property here in case the govt ever tries to take em.
