The only thing that matters is, comparing:
1. The economic impact of carbon taxes at various levels, in different countries. (It will negatively impact the economy)
with
2. The economic impact of doing nothing. (It will negatively impact the economy)
But that discussion takes a lot of math, and calculations, and would be beyond most people's attention spans. So the debate is always over simplified and we get nowhere.
All I know, is life will be better when Advanced Ai's are running everything, which can are capable of advanced math and economic forecasting.
