i dont know what language it was, but once i left the subway station with my friend and i heard a female talking on the phone in a language i had never heard before, it sounded really beautiful and i blurted out loud to my friend "dude what language do you think that is?" and i noticed the girl slowed her walking speed and then my "friend" said "dude shes creeped out by you" jfl so i didnt ask her since i didnt wanna bother her. her phenotype was middle eastern but she wasnt speaking arabic, turkish or persian. it sounded nothing like it. it wasnt spanish or italian or whatever either. this happened years ago and to this day i still wonder what language she spoke. fuck my shitty "friend" otherwise id have asked her

more to hungarian I think, lot of it has to do with the ottoman empire occupying large parts of Hungary during the middle ages. also there are some theories that essentially say that the ruling class of the Hungarians used to be some kind of turkic warlords, while the rest of the population they led was similar to the original finno ugric population (they mapped ancient Hungarian kings' DNA to parts of today's Afghanistan/Bashkiria)
