Its depicting the spanish rebels being executed by french soldiers in napoleons takeover of spain

one of the things i like about it is the main spanish rebel is in a christ-like pose, and how it contrasts with the french soldiers that you cant see the faces of

so you feel a lot more empathetic towards the rebels as you can understand their emotions, whereas the french soldiers look like emotionless killing machines

I think it’s because unfortunately I feel like I’m more living like Satan every single day rather than living a Christ like life everyday

and unfortunately when times are tuff or I feel like I’ve sinned against God

you’re not abandoned you’re not a disbeliever like me you have faith

if you’re telling the full truth that this is how you actually feel and this isn’t some lie you’re telling me then God has already forgiven He’s waiting for you to forgive yourself first

if the darker times makes you reflect more on yourself then Christ what you call it, is right by your side this is what Jesus wanted the most for any christian person to do.

he didn’t want humanity to stop sinning but to reflect on our sinning if this painting makes you do it and if the dark times make you do that then you’re on the right path you just have to make it a reality
