99% of cybercrime comes from script kiddies using pre made tools, low skill scammers running phishing or romance scams, and organized gangs who all exploit human errors with social engineering not genius code-breakers.

Those type of elite hackers that you are thinking of do exist but they usually go after governments, big corporations or high value targets not average people like you or me. You're too low value for them to care. The real everyday threat is the street level hustler with easy tools and basic manipulation tricks this the reason why even doing the basic OPSEC is enough to keep you safe for virtually all kinds of threats.
