Most girls that like me are younger

Is there a reason for this? 90% of the girls who have liked me are younger than me by 1 or two years. To put into perspective im in year 12/senior (Australian school) and im really popular amongst the year 10's . I hear stories about a new chick that likes me every other day, however in my year level I only know of 2 or 3 girls that like me.

either youre really low status in your grade so girls in your grade dont like you but girls outside of your grade do, or you simply benefit from looking older than the boys in the younger girls' grades

Nah none of those are true, The other day some girls in my year level were talking and one of them was asked "which guy would you want to be if you had to switch bodies" and the girl said word for word "Lurker because hes so funny, everyone knows him but hes lowkey at the same time" This same girl goes up to me in the hallway daily with some brainrot, legit cagefuel that she embarasses herself for my humour. And people told me this girl had a crush on me but shes with a guy already.

Anyway I should rephrase the question, for girls my age I still have girls that [Like me] but in general younger girls [Like me more] why could that be?
