Think about it. The typical regressive leftist is a middle or upper class douchebag that wants neo-liberal bullshit such as free trade and immigration and mostly rejects typical socialist talking points (protectionism, anti-eu, anti-globalism, secure borders etc). On top of that they also want society destroying immigration which is doomed to eventually crash the welfare state even despite the increasing rate of automation simply because of share numbers.
I have a conspiracy theory: I think leftists are actually secret libertarians all along whom are simply using social justice as a trojan horse for the destruction of the welfare state and the expansion of neo-liberal economic policy.
