Most male models are recessed from the side

Anyone else notice this? I’m guessing side profile doesn’t matter all that much?

Almost everyone is recessed with the exception of Mike Mew and his most dedicated child clients. Male models are no exception, it's just a matter of how much -- they may be slightly recessed but nowhere near as much as a trucel.

But definitely their profiles don't look as good unfrauded

yes if you put in them in lens distorted phones their profiles would be considered recessed here

Yes and certain cephalometric measurements would show it. For instance, SNA, SNB, ANB angles, Co-A, etc.

Use a line drawn from the nasion, which is perpendicular to Frankfurt plane (Google it) to measure the recession. If the chin is behind the line then the guy is recessed. Still, minimal amount of recession doesn't matter of you've good front profile

There is maxillary recession & mandibular recession. Ideally you want both intersecting the vertical line from the nasion. However, looking at it from side profile pics & not actual cephs makes it difficult to identify pna-sna lines & their corresponding angles because of head tilt. The best way u can do it is to make the ear parrellel to the vertical lin from the nasion & measure relative forward growth between people not absolute

Only ones I’ve seen in my life that I wouldn’t consider recessed is the mobster in some guys avy, cavill & some other guy

It’s rare for whites to have maxillary forward growth because they don’t have bimaxillary protrusion. I think barret got it tho.

nah what i meant is that if they look a pic with a phone it would cause lens distortion and their profiles would look even worse lens distortion can make a side profile especially chin look more recessed nose bigger and maxilla more flatter
