It requires both. You need to be both high IQ and hard working to succeed in STEM. You can’t have one without the other and still be successful in a STEM field. That’s why it pays as well as it does. Very few people have both criteria met.

one bullied/disrespected me when girls were around when I was 14 because I was socially retarded (not later as I got older but obviously I dislike him), another one was one of my closest friends when I was younger but ended up disrespecting and not supporting me in my time of need later on. Last one is one of the few actual people I'd consider a friend but also has 0 social status so that might be part of why we get along. Overall I wouldn't say this is a flex/NT
