Most people dont work out hard enough

It's hard to give 100% everyday for me due to wageslavery draining all my energy, Lack of time and funds severely affects a proper surplus diet and i don't sleep very well either. But i do notice that most guys in my gym see little changes as time passes

here's the approximate values for a beginning lifter when it comes to volume.

going once = 75% of your gains.

doubling your volume = 25% more gains.

tripling your volume = 35-40% more gains (+10-15%)

quadrupling your volume = -40-45% more gains (+5-10%)

and the 25% increase is only about 2kg of additional muscle, in a year.

this is on amateurs though.

also after quadrupling it you start losing muscle due to impaired recovery or maintain at best.

I calculated this with chat gpt though because exercise science is unreadable garbage so take it with a gain of salt.
To me this is one of the reasons Push-Pull-Legs is better than other routines. It allows training a muscular group twice a week plus it is still more specific than full body routines

I mean you can do what you want but I think it’s trash. Your individual muscles don’t get enough attention and not doing isolation work is retarded if you care about size and aeathetics

My pecs and front delts feel somewhat strained at the beginning of each workout when I warm up and start the first set despite adequate rest between workouts.
This is the first time in my lifting career that I've noticed this, either cumulative gymcelling over the years is taking it's toll or this is the hardest I've hammered my body while natty and at a low bodyweight while lifting relatively heavy weight
you need to start doing external rotator work asap
rear delt too

I have had a similar problem, but more severe and it has ruined gym for me for a long time
 
most are just doing it because they think it's cool/trendy, and assuming showing up at the gym here and there automatically translates to looking jacked after a couple of months. what an idiotic way of wasting time

used to do a similar thing by going running/jogging 2-3 days per week for a couple of summers (5-8 km) and expecting a major physical transformation, i guess.

I've been seeing the same faggots at my gym for years, who still look the exact same

Either skinny as fuck or fat as fuck

I sometimes watch them do their sets and they work out like total bitches who give up at the first sign of resistance

I've even seen guys on their phones while doing sets

i think full body is not optimal because if you train hard, there's no way you will be able to maintain intensity throughout the entire workout

but doing "half-body" is great, it's what I do

No, he is right, apart from being lazy im also seeing results way to fast, at least, imo... Even compared to some ppl that started around the same time as me. Plus i have 2 blacks on the gym giga jacked both said they r in there for ~1 year one of them even said around 9 months, compared to other ppl (whites) that r at the gym for around same time, they r just way too far ahead...

I'd say in the majority of cases it's not a matter of not working hard enough but of lacking consistency going 3-5 times every week to the Gym and lacking discipline in regards to the diet.

Years back when i worked out too hard it made me go less to the gym because of how much indirect aversion towards weight lifting i developed without noticing it due to thinking "Man, again all that pain and suffering". It's just best to work out in a way that will make you go 3-5 times a week always and mantain that level of intensity while escalating steadily.

upper1 upper2, legs1/2(you switch every week), day4: deadlifts + arms + abs
(you hit abs during legs as well)

Low volume high intensity is great for hypertrophy, and in many cases, better than high volume.

At the end of the day, what matters the absolute most for building muscle is getting stronger and training close to failure. You can achieve that through high volume, but it's a lot less efficient than low volume high intensity and harder to pull off due to more fatigue and recovery.

Get as strong as possible with exercises that target muscles you want to grow, and your genetics will dictate where you end up. How much volume you do won't change that.
