To me this is one of the reasons Push-Pull-Legs is better than other routines. It allows training a muscular group twice a week plus it is still more specific than full body routineshere's the approximate values for a beginning lifter when it comes to volume.
going once = 75% of your gains.
doubling your volume = 25% more gains.
tripling your volume = 35-40% more gains (+10-15%)
quadrupling your volume = -40-45% more gains (+5-10%)
and the 25% increase is only about 2kg of additional muscle, in a year.
this is on amateurs though.
also after quadrupling it you start losing muscle due to impaired recovery or maintain at best.
I calculated this with chat gpt though because exercise science is unreadable garbage so take it with a gain of salt.

This is the first time in my lifting career that I've noticed this, either cumulative gymcelling over the years is taking it's toll or this is the hardest I've hammered my body while natty and at a low bodyweight while lifting relatively heavy weight
It's hard to give 100% everyday for me due to wageslavery draining all my energy, Lack of time and funds severely affects a proper surplus diet and i don't sleep very well either. But i do notice that most guys in my gym see little changes as time passes

>Not working hard enoughI'd say in the majority of cases it's not a matter of not working hard enough but of lacking consistency going 3-5 times every week to the Gym and lacking discipline in regards to the diet.
Years back when i worked out too hard it made me go less to the gym because of how much indirect aversion towards weight lifting i developed without noticing it due to thinking "Man, again all that pain and suffering". It's just best to work out in a way that will make you go 3-5 times a week always and mantain that level of intensity while escalating steadily.
