They have high inhibition and social anxiety which isn't genetically permanent. Caused by isolation or stunted childhood brain development in social interactions. The global pandemic is one example where many NT-behaving individuals started mimicking and having ND tendencies due to lockdowns.
Otherwise, it's children who were frequently disengaged out of social circles caused by strict parents or being treated like outcasts in school. Therefore, they never learned the crucial social skill-sets or subconscious cues that allowed them to fit in with the normies. Which has made them hesitant to learn from square one.
The only way to fix this is lowering inhibition and being able to stomach embarrassing situations frequently through exposure until the brain adapts. High IQ would also help in this instance and speed up the process by constantly analyzing interactions for improvement. It could only take a few months but you'll have to be willing to look retarded.
