Most people today dress like slobs

In my Daddy's day, men wore well tailored custom suits just to get groceries. Dressing up was a sign of respect for other people, not just yourself. If you bother to even think about your wardrobe, you're ahead of most of the general population. I'm not saying you have to be a "dandy," but dressing for success is very optimal.
