Idk if this is the most brutal but it sure wasn't fun. In 9th grade there was a group project assigned, and everyone except me found a group in under 30 seconds and I was the only one who didn't have friends, so I had to go around the classroom and ask each group if I could join and got denied by all of them. Then the diva teacher looked at me with disdain and manually assigned me a group. They didn't like me very much and I felt the same way about them. Only good thing about this forced group was not a single one of us cared about the project and we all sat in class doing nothing while everyone else worked on the project and when it was time to present the project we had nothing to show and were gonna get a zero but the teacher allowed us to make a half assed oral presentation of whatever the topic was and we all did shitty and got like a 50% on it which was actually generous

The part of how brutal it was being a social outcast sucked but it was pretty funny that me and the others in the group I got put it didn't care to put effort in and would rather take the failing grade. That part was actually a decent memory

I guarantee that at this time in my own life, looking better would have made this situation never happen, among improving many other things like actually having a girlfriend in my teens and having a social life. Bad looks will get you treated neutrally and ignored at best, and often times attract negative attention or treatment. Looks improved for me later on, and nowadays I mostly get neutral treatment, but experiences like this in your formative years fuck you up forever

That I’ve at least somewhat known I have textbook facial deformities for almost 8 years now and done nothing about it, I’m probably going yet another summer this year with a malocclusion, bulbous nasal tip, insecure, borderline invisible, unable to cope.

To be fair my malocclusion is a pretty confusing one. The first orthodontist I went to in 2019 dismissed me and said my crowding is very mild. Then had a bunch of shit happen in my life and couldn’t really look into it again until last year, found out I’m a candidate for jaw surgery and definitely a rhinoplasty as well. But now the consultation and waiting stages are taking longer than expected and I’m already looking at summer 2027 to finally be looksmaxxed, if even then.

broo i have a similar story i just started secondary school in the uk so i was in year 7 and i knew no one from my primary school so it was kinda hard to make a friend. eventually i made one and his name was sean and no one liked the guy cuz he looked a little strange and he would also make weird noises in class, we were in drama once and the teacher told us to get into pairs, sean and i were litterally right next to each other and before i could even say anything this bum asks sean if he wanted to be partners and without a second thought sean said yes so now there wasnt a pair i could join and had to join a pair to make a three. i was 11 and i was deadass about to cry fuck that guy.
