Phenylpiracetam is a racetam developed by the Soviet Union in 1983, to help cosmonauts handle the mental and physical stress of space travel.

How does it work?

It works as a dopamine and weak norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor making it feel very stimulating; which is why most people who take it notice increased motivation and incentive salience (directly causes motivation)

It also binds to the Alpha-4 Beta-2 nicotonic acetylcholine receptors (
control brain dopamine, nicotine addiction, and pain relief) allowing for enhanced cholinergic signalling (more acetylcholine boosts brain focus) ; this can allow for enhanced sensory filtering, clearer attention, and faster information encoding

The problem/cons
Tolerance builds insanely fast most report the stimulating effects are gone 3-4 days of consecutive use

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Realistically it can only be used 2x a week; otherwise it doesn't work; because of it's unique dual action as a cognitive enhancer and sitmulant but limited by it rapid tolerance build up it's a B-C tier nootropic in my opinon.
