Mothers height is more important than fathers height

There was some sort of graph alongside anecdotal evidence from my own observations.

But I think boys are not guaranteed to surpass their fathers in height but are guaranteed to surpass their mother by atleast some amount.

If you get same height woman you are kind of guaranteed to have a taller son

Not saying tall dad won't make tall children but the mothers height has a higher guarantee of making the child taller

yes this is true. my father is like 5’7 and my mother around 5’6. but no man on my mothers side is shorter than 6ft. even my 80year old grandfather is 6ft

This is simply based on the fact that the most common formula for expected height is (momHeight + dadHeight)/2 + 2 inches, for males

So, if the mom is shorter or the same height as the dad, she getting cleared by at least 2 inches
